Over the last couple of years, it has become one of my favorite things to chat with y’all about what I’m reading. You’ve given me so many great book recommendations, and there’s not much that brings me more excitement than when I book I recommend is a hit for one of you!
We’re a little more than a quarter of the way through the year, and so far I’ve read 39 books. They haven’t all been big hits - in fact, over the last month or so I’ve definitely been in a bit of a slump. But, I’ve read some really great ones so far this year and today I’m sharing my top five. In no particular order, because declaring a favorite really stresses me out.
That’s Not My Name by Megan Lally - I love a twisty book and this one was such a fun read. It really kept me on my toes from page one, and I had a really hard time putting it down. I read a lot of this type of book (as you’ll see from my list 😅) and it can be hard find ones that still surprise me.
Keep It In the Family by John Marrs - OH BOY did I love this book! I found it because I kept seeing screenshots of a specific chapter on book groups that popped up on my Facebook page (you’ll know it when you see it), and curiosity got the best of me. I am so glad I tried it because this one is probably going to be a favorite for the entire year.
The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer - I’m making an effort to read at least 1 non-fiction book a month this year. I’ve wanted to read this one for a while now, and I think it’s safe to say it was a little bit life-changing for me. It really got me thinking about a lot of my habits and led me to make some tangible changes in my day-to-day. Can’t recommend it enough!
Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley - If you’re missing White Lotus and need something that feels a little like you’re transported right back there, this is the book for you. I couldn’t stop thinking about how the resort featured here feels just like something from the show, and I loved the style of this book with the journal-style flashbacks.
The Unmaking of June Farrow by Adrienne Young - This one isn’t twisty or murder-y! It’s just a really fascinating story that kept me entranced from the beginning. It’s beautifully written and really makes you think and I can already tell it’s one I’ll keep thinking about for a while.
A bonus shout-out to Anxiety Rx (which one of you recommended to me on Instagram) - I’m not quite done with it yet but I think I’ve talked more about this book to the people in my than I have about any other book in a long time.
A few books on my TBR list (aka: my Libby waitlist) that I’m feeling really excited to read?
What have you been reading lately?!
What I’m Reading / Wearing / Loving

We already talked a ton about books but I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that I’m wrapping up this audiobook and if I had been done with it when I made this list, it probably would be in the top five!
I can already tell this tank is going to be on repeat this summer. I also need to pick up this one in a few more colors because I got it last summer and wore it constantly.
Just got these sandals last week. They’re so comfortable and may actually convince me to stop leaving the house in my favorite slippers. 😂
My favorite kitchen cleaner is 40% off - it’s still a splurge but I’ve never seen it this cheap! I think they’re reducing the number of scents they offer, so I stocked up on a bunch, just in case.
Obsessed with these pretty vintage-style planters. Still don’t have anything small enough for the littlest one but I guess that juts means a trip to the nursery is in order.
