What a journey 2025 has been. Seriously, y’all. For the entirety of this year so far, I have been either prepping to sell my house, trying to sell my house, or debating if I even want to sell my house. It’s consumed probably 90% of my thoughts/anxieties/fears for the last 6+ months (we started talking about moving in November of 2024!), and it has been full of so many ups and downs it’s hard to wrap my mind around it all.

I’ve been pretty quiet about the specifics over the last few months because, frankly, I couldn’t handle talking about it. It was hard enough to keep friends and family updated - and the one time I tried to get vulnerable and really share my struggles a little more publicly, the only comment I received was from someone telling me to “grow the f*ck up” because my problems are, in the grand scheme of things, not that big.

It doesn’t exactly inspire a desire to share more, you know?

But, I’ve got an update for you today. Honestly, I’m nervous to say anything. I have a lot of emotions tied up in all of this, and I generally prefer to just keep quiet about things until they’re a little more settled. But I’ve really missed being able to share the ups and downs with you, and so it’s time.

So, ARE YOU MOVING?!

The short answer is, YES! We are OFFICIALLY back under contract on the sale of our home. We are past inspections, appraisals, and all option periods. Unless something absolutely crazy happens (which, listen, IT COULD), we’ll be moving at the end of August.

Yes, the end of August. It’s a long time - and a long story. And I’ll be telling the whole messy thing below the paywall. Because everything is still ongoing and this whole journey has been so deeply personal and challenging, I’m keeping the full, unfiltered story for a smaller audience.

But, I will tell you all that as of today we’re definitely still moving. And also, if this contract falls through for any reason, we’re definitely not moving. Because I’m tired.

If you want the rest of the story (and it’s a doozy), you can sign up for my full newsletter. It’s only $5 a month and gives you access to the full newsletter each week, plus is a really great way to support your favorite internet friend. 😉

Of Note This Week

  • I finally tried the smash taco trend (have you seen this?) and I’m hooked. Made some chicken caesar salad smash tacos and they were so good. Next, I’m trying these.

  • This DIY project blew my mind.

  • The comments on this post left me feeling so inspired.

  • I officially hit my annual “I can’t take the chaos anymore” summer breaking point and instituted a schedule for myself to hopefully get back to some version of normal. Wish me luck.

  • I can’t stop thinking about the dirty soda trend. I don’t know anyone who actually drinks their sodas with cream, but it’s everywhere. Have you tried this? Is it actually good? I’m so skeptical but also desperately curious. But not curious enough to try it. 👀

Weekly Favorites

  • If I haven’t yet convinced you that a tennis skirt is the best thing to have in your summer wardrobe, please hear me out. It’s such a game-changer.

  • This origami kit has kept Jackson so busy this week.

  • I’ve reached for this bathing suit more than any of my others this summer.

  • And, of course, this pool bag is still such a lifesaver every time we head to the pool.

  • My favorite candles are only $22 right now, and you get free shipping if you buy three. TRUST ME when I tell you these candles are worth every cent. They’re all good but if I were you, I’d just buy three of the Pineapple Coconut and call it a day.

What I Read This Week

  • I have loved every single book in this series but this one might be my favorite. I highly recommend reading them all (here’s book 1), but you can definitely read them out of order if you just want to dip a toe in!

  • I’m not very far in this book yet but hooooolllly cow I’m loving it. This book by the same author is one of my very favorites so I have high expectations!

Okay, So Here’s The Whooooole Story

If you’re still here, that means you’re invested in knowing the completely unfiltered story about what has happened with our move. Well, buckle up, because this ride is QUITE A JOURNEY.

Highlights include:

  • Why the heck our original contract fell apart.

  • The story of why we aren’t moving until August.

  • How this contract almost fell apart (😅)

  • ….and maybe a little bonus story about the celebrity-adjacent home we almost bought.

I’m also telling you EXACTLY where we are in the home buying process and a little about the houses we’ve made offers on already.
